A Transformative Journey began when our founder, as SVP of Technology at Aetna, spent years building AI models designed to systematically manage claims—but realized these models were unintentionally creating further barriers to care. This insight led to a pivotal realization: technology in healthcare was often part of the problem rather than the solution.

This revelation sparked the creation of cliexa® in 2016 with a fundamentally different approach. Instead of adding more complexity to an already burdened system, we set out to use technology to break down barriers between patients, providers, and payers. Our vision was clear: harness the power of patient-reported data and advanced AI to simplify healthcare processes, not complicate them.

We identified that the disconnection between patient information and clinical workflows was creating massive inefficiencies and barriers to care. Our solution? A seamless system that captures patient information and presents it to clinicians in a clear, actionable format—integrated directly into EMR systems. This created the vital first link in connecting patients and providers through technology that enhances rather than hinders the care experience.

Our vision gained powerful validation through our partnership with the American College of Cardiology. Together, we expanded our reach to train our AI systems with over 10,000 patient encounters daily in clinical settings. This collaboration proved that our approach could work at scale, providing healthcare providers with real-time insights that align clinical decisions with coverage criteria, dramatically reducing administrative burden while improving care delivery.

Scale Our breakthrough collaboration with Mayo Clinic Platform represents the culmination of our journey so far. By training our AI systems with over 12 million real clinical data points, we've created powerful predictive capabilities that anticipate needs across the entire healthcare ecosystem. This advancement has allowed us to bridge the longstanding gap between clinical care and financial processes—solving one of healthcare's most persistent challenges by aligning clinical documentation with financial requirements.
